Around 3:30 a.m. we realized it was silly to just sit up and talk in the living room when we could just get in the car and be at the front of the line. Imagine our surprise when we show up before 4:00 a.m. and the line is already filling the majority of the parking lot. So we get out of the car and stand in the freezing cold for an hour waiting to get into the store. Now my sisters and I are pretty funny, at least we think we are, but at 4 in the morning with no sleep, we're just down right hilarious. I had an absolute blast and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Here are my top 10 favorite moments of our first ever early morning sale shopping.
1. Keenan offering to "chest bump" everybody out of my way
2. Asking Shawna what was on her shopping list and hearing her reply with "just egg nog"
3. The look on the ladies' face in front of us after Shawna said "egg nog"
4. The look of sheer terror on the worker's face as they passed out the carts to the charging mob of people
5. Being pushed and shoved until I finally cracked and just started grabbing stuff because I couldn't get to the stuff I actually wanted.
6. Watching people try and drag their giant TV's around the store
7. Placing an item in my cart and accidentally knocking Nicole's Power Ranger helmet on the floor and having to physically wrestle it out of some ladies' hands as she tried to steal it from me...dang lady cut my finger open
8. After Nicole's unsuccessful attempts at a Nintendo DS and Batmobile, watching her excitement when Keenan and Katie found them sitting on the floor in front of the milk.
9. Having a mini high school reunion while running around the store like a mad woman
10. Watching some crazy lady stuff her arms full of $5 Hot Wheels while shouting at people to get away. Honestly, is that even a good price for those???
To my fellow Walmart shoppers, good effort this year, but watch out, we're coming back next year, and we'll be better prepared!

That's so awesome! I love black friday, it's so crazy and fun. My sisters and I do it every year, and it gets better and better each year! Hey, I wrote a blog about the Utes winning and mentioned something in there about people in Boise...but PLEASE know that I am not talking about you. I directly meant it for Travis' ex-wife who lives in Boise, but I couldn't directly say her name for certain reasons. I hope you understand. I just needed you to know that. Any time I say something about Boise, it's being directed towards her! I know it's crazy, but she likes to stalk our blog!

Wow, sounds like an adventure! I'm too scared of anarchy to go out shopping on black friday. I'm sad we didn't get to meet up with you guys; next time, I guess!
THAT IS SO FUNNY! I will have you know that I was one of the ORIGINAL workers at that Ephraim Wal-Mart. I helped open the store (my title was "Instock Garintor" I was in charge of calling the warehouse and letting them know what we were out of. So all of the dept. managers worked through me. They hired me on at that position not realizing it was a store management position. SO STRESSFUL!)
I know to well the CRAZY people that come in.
I was in SF this year. We started at JC Penny's. We didn't get there until about 6:00 a.m. so the BIG rush was gone. But I heard that the Springville Wal-Mart had the ambulance there. Some ladies got in a fist fight. (CRAZY!!)

Oh the madness! Ben was actually there as well. We was much further up the line beings he got there at 3:00. so crazy, but he loves it. I used to do it when I was young and vibrant now I would much rather sleep. Sounds like you had fun.
Every year I tell myself I'm not going to shop on Black Friday. It is addicting getting a great deal on something even if you don't need it. Glad you had fun. Try not to trample anyone.
You are insane! As you probably know, I hate shopping as it is, but to have to fight people for what I want - no way! I went last year in the afternoon and it was like a normal shopping day. Anyway, it really sounds like you had a blast, but I am going to let you enjoy it and then tell me about it. Then I will enjoy your stories. :) Love ya!!
Brave woman! So I want to know if it's really worth it. I mean, if there's enough anarchy to cause injury and even death... I think I'd be way too scared to even attempt Walmart on black Friday. Will there really be a next year?!
I didn't attempt black friday this year! However the last two years shopping at 4 am in Nebraska on black friday was actually quite pleasant. They even handed out donuts while we waited in line in front of target. How Sweet! Sorry about your finger! Bring bandaids next year as part of your preparation!
